So while I know I’m not REALLY JA, her everywoman style makes me feel better about the moment in my waitressing history when I exploded a tray with five split pea soup specials on it. The characters she plays are less then perfect, although maybe not aware of it (cough, cough…RACHEL…)
But she always hits just the right notes in exposing a character’s neuroses in a way that makes me feel like a window was opened into someone’s head. Her particular blend of vulnerability and hilarity have long made me a member of Team Aniston. (We don’t talk about that other team.) I did an unofficial survey among my girls- we all grew up with “Friends”, watched “The Breakup”, and have generally felt like Jennifer Anniston is a chick who’s kinda too booked up to hang out right now, but could decide to come try on some clothes at Ann Taylor any second now. What makes her so “One of Us?” The responses ranged from “She’s never had any surgery that I can tell, and she looks awesome,” to “Duh!!!! She’s RACHEL!” ======== Copiers security software |
