can you post some information on the video so that this is not just blatant advertising verging on the side of spamming?

Default NINJUTSU DOCUMENTARY

For those interested, there is a new documentary available that was 4 years in the making, chronicling the factual history behind the legendary 'ninja' warriors of Old Japan. The film features interviews with some of the world's top practitioners from the Bujinkan and Jinenkan, including Grandmaster Masaaki Hatsumi.
Clips of the film can be viewed at Shinobi - Winds of the 34 Generations. Thank you.

I'm not trying to be combative here, but the presentation of this as "factual history" bothers me. It's not that I necessarily doubt the veracity of the information, but rather that the need to call it the factual history troubles me. The information will speak for itself. Dozens of books and videos out there claim to tell the "true history" of the ninja. I choose to take a look at the information, compare it with what is known about Japanese history (while accounting for information lost/altered during the Meiji Restoration), and make my own determination on fact vs fiction.

Further, when considering matters of history, I have found that no one source ever contains only truth, or the whole truth. Each source is biased and has an agenda of its own, and this colors its presentation of the knowledge at its disposal.

Ninjitsu is indeed a true art of war. The only reason that Ninjitsu technique
exists is because someone survived to pass on the information. The video contains some footage of Hatsumi who studied under Takamatsu, the last actual combat active ninja, and much of this research/film is probably centered around him. Soke Tanemura is also considered to be another source of authentic ninjitsu and he trained with Hatsumi also.
Anyone else claiming to be a "master" of ninutsu is dreaming.
Tanemura and Hatsumi are bitterly opposed to each others styles of teaching and the politics are thick and plenty. This, coupled with the ocean of crap that is out there claiming to know this or teach that on the subject only prove the true essence of ninjutsu; it is an illusion, a smoke screen, a cheap trick, but it holds the key to many doors that most "martial arts" dont even know exist.
