Does anybody know any exercises that will help for jumping higher? I've been studying TKD for 10 years, in the traditional style. I am trying to get into 540's and stuff now just for fun.

if you want to do it the traditional way... dig a hole and jump out. then dig it a little deeper and work on that... then go a little deeper.... you get the point.
a less messy version is jumping up stairs. jump one step them move to two them three, etc. but that can get dangerous. a better option would be if you have something that you can stack that is stable.
when it comes to jumps for kicks though, good technique really helps. you should be driving you knees up high and not allowing you feet to tuck under your butt.

OH wow, I did not know you made this site, but thank you for it, it's really wonderful. I've been searching for a good forum to share my knowledge with other people, and just to discuss martial arts as a whole. This is a very welcoming place and it's nice that no one bashes on each other really. I've been to others where there's so much cursing and really putting down other arts, which is really not necessary. And the belts all make sense now
lol... i only kinda "made" this site.... i left another site (me and my mods) because there was a lot of that my art is better stuff and some stupid trolls. i liked this site and just keep pestering the admin with a bunch of suggestions until he made me an admin and gave me control.... so i kinda took it over.... so the member "Admin" can be credited with making a great site, but he doesn't post much.
and you don't have to worry about this site ever degrading into childish fights. myself and my mods are committed to stop that from happening!

That's cool. I might as well ask you questions and stuff =P How do you get an "avatar" and how do you get quotes like you have?
to add a quote: if you go to the "quick links" button on the top bar, on of the links will be edit signature. you can put anything in that area. i do ask that if you put a link to another site that you please put a link here on that site.
to add an avatar: on the top bar click on "UserCP". on the left hand sign you should see "Settings & Options" with the option "Edit Avatar" (click on that). from there you upload a picture either from a website or your comp. if you load it from a website, you have to click on the picture so it brings up a page with only that picture. then you copy and past the URL
hope that helps![]()

The Jump Manual was created by Jacob Hiller and costs $67.00 with the option to pay $10.00 a month to be a member of his jumping forum. The promise of the Jump Manual is 10 inches in 12 weeks. Now obviously that is not going to be the case if you are already jumping 40 inches high. But it’s an average of people that have used the system.
The Jump Mentor was created by Cade Orvin and costs a flat $37.00. The main promise of the jump mentor is about 3/4 to an 1 inch each week of proper jump training. So the results promised are pretty much equal for both jump programs.
So what do you do if you want to jump higher? Do you pay the extra $40 dollars for the Jump Manual or do you trust the Jump Mentor? Well, that decision is entirely up to you, each program has it’s pros and cons but I have tried both and I got results from both. Neither are the most visually pleasing, but then again you are paying for a workout that teaches you how to jump higher and not for eye candy. I believe that you would pleased with either product and both Jacob and Cade are genuine in their desire to help you learn how to jump higher. They both responded to my emails within 48 hours and they answered any and all questions I had for them. They are both very knowledgeable on the subject of jump training and you are seriously in good hands with either product.
