What is your favorite style? We all have favorites and not one style is better then the other. Each style has it’s strengths and weakness. Some students may prefer the ground arts to the the stand up art form. Some students may like to preform katas and forms. Some students may like a further challenge by physically competing against another like minded individual. Some students may like just to learn the art as knowledge enrichment. Some students may have a goal of achieving black belts, and dan status in multiple styles. Some students may like a style for self-defense. Some students may like a style for the fitness elements. Whatever your reasons towards your favorable style. Welcome to Martial Arts Meta. One of our premiere goals is to cover all things related to the martial arts. If you would like to write and article about your favorite style and shear it with the world. We’d love to hear from you. Contact us…

  • ‘He tried to steal money and he’s a f—ing a—hole’: Canelo steps to Oscar at press conference

Canelo Alvarez and Oscar De La Hoya got heated at the press conference Canelo Alvarez and Oscar De La Hoya got heated at today’s press conference. It’s long been no secret that Canelo Alvarez and former promoter Oscar De La Hoya aren’t exactly friendly, and on Wednesday, things got hot between the two at the press conference for Canelo’s Saturday fight with Jaime Munguia. It’s the first time Canelo and De La Hoya have worked on the same promotion since Canelo’s bitter split from Golden Boy in 2020. Oscar started today’s renewed tension by addressing some of the criticisms Canelo has sent his way over the years. “Yes, I’ve been to rehab several times. Yes, there were some really points in my life. And yes, there were times when work was not my priority thanks to my mental health, which I had neglected so long,” De La Hoya said. “But that doesn’t change the fact that Golden Boy built Canelo Alvarez, period. The company you fought under for decades has always had one name, and it’s mine, so put some f—ing respect on it.” As De La Hoya continued, Canelo, seated to his right, began to speak off-mic toward him in Spanish. Oscar then brought up the time in 2018 when Munguia, then an unknown, tried to step in to replace Canelo against Gennadiy Golovkin following Alvarez failing two drug tests. De La Hoya stood his ground while others got between them, then took his seat, and nothing more happened, really. All the while, Munguia just stayed in his seat and chilled, basically. Canelo then spoke up and in English, and he didn’t mince words. “He tried to steal money and he’s a f—ing a—hole, that’s what I said,” Canelo stated. “He’s a f—king a—hole. He’s trying to keep the attention for himself, not for Munguia. He’s a f—ing a—hole. He tries to steal from his fighters, that’s what he does. F—ing p—y. Motherf—er.” .@Canelo calls out de la Hoya's character and Oscar people exactly how he feels about him . #CaneloMunguiaWatch now: https://t.co/j02rZGbrUB pic.twitter.com/7iHisG9iq5— Premier Boxing Champions (@premierboxing) May 1, 2024 If there’s an out-of-ring “narrative” for the marketing on Saturday, it’s definitely the still-raw feelings between Canelo and Oscar, because feelings between Canelo and Munguia, whom he’ll actually fight, seem entirely respectful, as Canelo has no beef with Munguia.

  • ‘I’m looking to upset the world’: Valenzuela geared up to pull off win over Pitbull
by Wil Esco on May 1, 2024 at 4:39 pm

Jose Valenzuela gets a shot at a world title when he takes on Isaac Cruz, August 3. | Photo by Steve Marcus/Getty Images Jose Valenzuela believes his style will pose a lot of problems for Pitbull Cruz. As Jose ‘Rayo’ Valenzuela prepares for his upcoming title opportunity against Isaac ‘Pitbull’ Cruz, he talks about why he believes his style and preparation is better suited to deal with Cruz as he expects to take home the belt. Check out some of what he had to say below. “I’ve been in camp already for about three, four weeks preparing for Edwin, but you know I got a call, a big opportunity presented itself for the world title against Pitbull and I didn’t ask no questions, I took it,” Valenzuela said. “Pitbull’s a hell of a fighter, he’s tough, but he’s not unbeatable. He’s been beaten twice already. He had a good fight with Rolly but I believe styles make fights and August 3rd I’m looking to upset the world. “You look at the fight with [Pitbull] and Cabrera, also a lefty, Pitbull had a lot of trouble with him and with all due respect to Cabrera but I believe I’m a way better fighter than him. I’m with my coach Mario Rodriguez, Robert Garcia’s officially part of the team now, he’s going to be the second, and I believe with his experience we have everything it takes to beat a guy like Pitbull Cruz. “We’re sharpening up all my tools, my defense, my fundamentals, everything’s going to be there August 3rd.”
